Making your video more cinematic or animated is complicated with traditional video editors. They often require downloading heavy-duty software and learning a multi-step process. On the flip side, Kapwing’s pinning feature helps you make videos more dynamic and take advantage of motion tracking technology in just a few clicks. You can pin text and images onto an object in the video to create moving labels, censor parts of a video, or add entertainment value to your project.
While platforms like Snapchat or Instagram let you pin stickers to video in the app, you can only use them on mobile. Kapwing’s motion tracking video editor works online on any device – no software downloads required. Regardless of how much video editing experience you have, anyone can use this motion tracking technology to pin stickers to video within seconds.
Upload your video to Kapwing directly from your computer or paste a video URL link from an external source like YouTube, Twitter, etc.
Add an image or text box to the project, then click the video layer and choose Pin Layer in the Effects tab. Drag and drop the object onto the video layer to create a pinned layer.
Export your video and you’ll have the choice to download a file, share across social media, or create a video URL link!
With Kapwing’s motion tracking video editor, you can add movement to your video by pinning text, images, or shapes that follow the motion of objects in the video. Bringing motion tracking technology to the browser makes it more accessible to creators of all experience levels.
Pin an object to a moving subject in your video to protect people’s privacy in public, label people in a video, or add a spark to a moving object. When you’ve uploaded your video to Kapwing’s motion tracking video editor, add a text, image, or shape layer on top of your video. Then, select your video layer and hit the Pin Layer (beta) video effect in the right navigation bar. Click and drag the element to a moving object in the video and it will follow the motion of that object.
After you’ve pinned an object to your video, make more edits like adding subtitles, text-to-speech, or audio. When you’ve made your final edits, hit Export Project and Kapwing will have your video ready for you to download or share directly across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram Reels, or TikTok. Unlike Instagram and Snapchat, Kapwing’s motion tracking video lets you pin moving objects to a video for videos longer than the limited 60 seconds, 3 minutes, and even 10 minutes. This is ideal for longer videos like vlogs, video podcasts, prank videos, and much more.
Kapwing is free to use for teams of any size. We also offer paid plans with additional features, storage, and support.
